Ask the supplier to identify the material grade and applicable drawing or standard. Confirm which heat-treatment process is used for the part and how process parameters are controlled. Do not apply a single temperature or quenching method to every bearing type.
Request relevant inspection evidence
For the selected order, ask which hardness, dimensional and material checks are included and how records are linked to the production lot. Agree the acceptance criteria before production; a generic equipment photograph does not establish those results.
Define the purchasing requirements
- State the bearing reference, operating conditions and required quantity.
- Provide the applicable drawing, material specification and inspection requirements.
- Confirm the manufacturing entity and any certification scope relevant to the order.
- Request the agreed inspection documentation with the quotation or order confirmation.
